is a cellist with an eclectic international background. Born in Philadelphia, she has performed, worked, and studied in twenty-one countries and twenty-four American states. She earned her Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory (recipient of the Beatrice Feldman Kahn and Raymond S. Kahn Endowed Cello Scholarship) and a degree from Johns Hopkins University, later continuing her studies in Europe with a performance diploma from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and both a Master of Arts (cum laude) and a Postgraduate degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She also studied at the Manhattan School of Music with Fred Sherry on a full-tuition scholarship. Sara has appeared with ensembles such as Ensemble Intercontemporain (Paris), the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Residentie Orkest (The Hague), and the Tucson Symphony, and has served as principal cellist under Péter Eötvös, Sir Roger Norrington, and at the Vermont Mozart Festival and in the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra (Santander) and Romanian Sinfonietta (Bucharest). Festival appearances include the Grachtenfestival, Cello Biënnale, Holland Festival, Lowlands Festival, Klara Festival (the Netherlands), Encuentro de Música de Santander (Spain), Festival Pablo Casals Prades (France), Festival George Enescu (Bucharest), Young Euro Classic - Berlin, Aurora Festival (Sweden), among others. Her work spans both traditional and innovative projects, from premiering Harrison Birtwistle’s final work "An Old Man Asleep" (2021) to performing in “Traviata: Remixed” at Amsterdam’s Grachtenfestival and Lowlands. With the Brussels Contemporary Ensemble, she was in residence at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music (China), coaching and teaching composition students and performing at the Sun River Festival. Sara has studied with teachers including Lorne Munroe, Derek Barnes, Ohad Bar-David, David Hardy, and Jeroen Reuling, and participated in masterclasses with Nicolas Altstaedt, Gary Hoffman, Jens-Peter Maintz, Miklós Perényi, and Pieter Wispelwey, among many others. Mr. Vuust is a well-versed drummer in a wide array of musical styles with a specialty in bebop, hard-bop and traditional jazz drumming. He is an adventurous performer who seeks to explore the limits of the instrument and music at large. He has a unique musical voice and spirit that guides his drumming and musical projects. Throughout his life he has studied with jazz greats such as Kendrick Scott, Marcus Gilmore, Louis Hayes, Gregory Hutchinson, Dan Weiss, Obed Calvaire, Kenny Washington and John Riley. Mikkel Vuust has shared the stage and recorded with great artists from all over the world. Mr. Vuust is also featured drummer on the EP Neon by Japanese composer Arina Fujiwara and the self-titiled EP by the swedish/danish art-pop band OTTILIA. Mr. Vuust has performed with several acclaimed danish and international musicians such as Marc Mommas, Ron Mcclure, Cæcilie Nordby, Sinne Eeg, Larry Koonse, Jacob Fisher, Ingrid Jensen, Christine Jensen, James Loveless, Mathias Heise to name a few. Mikkel Vuust has toured around the world with various musical acts and is going on a national tour in Denmark in the fall of 2025. A native of Dallas, TX, Tarun has performed with a variety of ensembles such as the New York Philharmonic, Harlem Chamber Players, Uptown Philharmonic, and Civic Orchestra of Chicago in a variety of venues including Carnegie Hall and Symphony Hall in Chicago. He spent summers with the Spoleto Music Festival and the Round Top Music Festival and has worked with esteemed conductors including Giancarlo Guerrero, Yaniv Dinur, Michelle Merrill, Carl St. Clair, Leonard Slatkin, Herbert Blomstedt, and Kensho Watanabe. He is also a member of Chicago-based Synthesis Percussion Quartet, the 2nd Prize Winner in the 2019 Italy PAS Web Contest. He had the privilege of studying with Christopher Lamb, Duncan Patton, She-e Wu, Kyle Zerna, and Rob Parks. Tarun received his Bachelor’s Degree of Music from Northwestern University where he graduated with department honors, receiving a double major in Percussion Performance, Music Cognition and a minor in Cognitive Sciences. He received his Master’s Degree in Music in 2022 from the Manhattan School of Music’s Orchestral Performance Program. He will complete a Professional Studies Certificate in Orchestral Performance at MSM this coming Spring.
